6/10-6/12 Weekend Box Office


Super 8 opened with not a wimpy or big weekend, but passing forecasts with an estimated $37 million. A good comparison would be District 9, opening with a close 37.4 million. Turns out that Super 8 wasn't as eventful as it was made out to be.

X-Men: First Class performed better than most of it's predecessors in its second weekend earning an estimated $25 million bringing its domestic total to $98.8 million, and worldwide total to $223 million.

In third was The Hangover Part II  with an estimated $18.5 million now with a domestic total to $216.5 million and a worldwide total of $431.3 million. In fourth was Kung Fu Panda 2 holding on strong earning $16.6 million in its third weekend with a domestic total of $126.9 million bringing its worldwide total to $331.9 million. Pirates of The Caribbean edged out Bridesmaids with $10.8 million with a domestic total of $208.7 million and with a worldwide total of an impressive $886.7 million. Bridesmaids was the most impressive again earning $10.8 million, now with a domestic total of $124 million.
